OK, It's here! Just a few hours left and I'll be heading out. The bike is ready and Toby's truck is packed. We're gonna try to get some rest tonight but with all the preparing and getting ready, I'm not sure if I can sleep tonight now that it's finally here. I guess I have to. Anybody who wants to is invited to the LEC to see us off tomorrow around 11. Thanks to everybody who helped get us to this point. Keep an eye on the blog for updates throughout the week!
Oh yeah, KSNT in Topeka did a story on the ride tonight, they don't have a link on their site yet but I'll post one when I can.

A Ride for Baby Granton
Granton Bayless is a six month old little boy from Bolivar, Missouri. In March of 2008, Granton was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID.) SCID is a rare genetic disorder in which the immune system fails to develop. Granton is the light of his parents' life and has become the focus of prayer for a countless number of friends, family, and others. The financial strain on Granton's Mom and Dad has already been great and has only been overshadowed by the emotional strain they have felt over these last few weeks. On June 16th, 2008, I will set off on a five day, 330 mile solo bicycle ride to raise money for Granton's family. Your pledges will allow us all to attempt to help alleviate some of this financial strain. This Blog will let you know how you can contribute, as well as keeping you updated on the progress leading up to and during the ride.

How to Pledge
All the money collected in this ride will go toward Granton and his family, your pledges will be deposited into an account at the Bank of Bolivar in Granton's name. Granton's benefit ride will be a 335 mile ride when all is said and done but for simplicity's sake, I am rounding it down to 300 even. So, if you pledge 10 cents per mile, your total would be $30, 25 cents would be $75, a dollar would be $300, and so on.
