Yesterday I had the chance to go to Children's Mercy to see everybody. I got to Kansas City in the early afternoon and surprised Grandpa Todd & Grandma Sandy when I walked into the waiting room. I got to visit with them, Jenni, and Daniel for quite a while. We were able to talk about and work out some of the details for the ride and just had a chance to talk and tell stories. Then, Granton's mommy took me in to see the Star of the Ride. The picture is of the big guy resting from his chemo. You can't see it very well, but even though he's out, his little hand is holding onto my finger while he sleeps. He's a tough little guy and getting to see him gave me something to concentrate on while I ride next week. I got to spend quite a bit of time with him and at one point, he even woke up. He made it pretty clear that he didn't feel the best but his mommy was able to calm him right down and get him back to sleep. It was a great afternoon, I didn't want to start this thing without getting to spend a little time with Baby G before I left. Just one week to go!
